I’ve always loved written content, but pursuing my engineering degree left little room for authoring anything other than highly technical reports. But one day I was shocked and delighted to receive an email from my English teacher saying: “You’re an amazing writer. I’m recommending you be hired as a writing tutor.”
Soon after, I was hired by my university’s writing department to tutor students campus-wide in English, Humanities, or any writing projects they needed help with.
As it turns out, of the dozens of tutors I worked with, I was the only one from the Engineering college. And that’s when it hit me: I had a gift for bridging the gap between complex topics and explaining them to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Today, I’m happy to bring this expertise to each of my clients. You can see the results I’ve helped them achieve here.
I live in Portland, Oregon, and work from the Collective Agency in Southeast Portland. I bike everywhere and I’m a bicycle rights advocate, too.
When I’m not biking, I love camping, hiking, and cooking. I’ve been known to grab the karaoke mic (despite being a less-than-amazing singer). I’ve traveled solo to over 25 countries, and I check a few more off the list every year.
